< dc:description > This article aims to analyze the transnational activism of the Chinese diaspora in social media platforms that aimed to confront racist and xenophobic narratives on the expression "Chinese virus", whose dissemination promoted the association between Coronavirus and the Chinese population in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. We focus on the process of creation and production of two campaigns in Brazil and in Spain, #EuNãoSouUmVirus and #YoNoSoyUnVírus, respectively, shared on YouTube and X (former Twitter). Based on a qualitative approach, we combine ethnographic observations (posts and its contexts analysis) and in-depth interviews with three activists involved in these campaigns. The analysis is developed around two dimensions of transnationalism in digital networks of the Chinese diaspora that marked the campaign production process in the two national contexts (1) the emergence of racist and xenophobic narratives around the "Chinese virus" as an impulse towards transnational activism of the Chinese diaspora on digital networks (2) the activism of the #YoNoSoyUnVírus campaign as an opportunity for political engagement and confronting conflict in the context of Chinese culture. </ dc:description >

< dc:description > This article aims to analyze the transnational activism of the Chinese diaspora in social media platforms that aimed to confront racist and xenophobic narratives on the expression "Chinese virus", whose dissemination promoted the association between Coronavirus and the Chinese population in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. We focus on the process of creation and production of two campaigns in Brazil and in Spain, #EuNãoSouUmVirus and #YoNoSoyUnVírus, respectively, shared on YouTube and X (former Twitter). Based on a qualitative approach, we combine ethnographic observations (posts and its contexts analysis) and in-depth interviews with three activists involved in these campaigns. The analysis is developed around two dimensions of transnationalism in digital networks of the Chinese diaspora that marked the campaign production process in the two national contexts (1) the emergence of racist and xenophobic narratives around the "Chinese virus" as an impulse towards transnational activism of the Chinese diaspora on digital networks (2) the activism of the #YoNoSoyUnVírus campaign as an opportunity for political engagement and confronting conflict in the context of Chinese culture. </ dc:description >
< dc:description > Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el activismo transnacional de la diáspora china en plataformas de redes sociales que tuvieron como objetivo confrontar narrativas xenófobas sobre la expresión "virus chino", cuya difusión promovió la asociación entre el coronavirus y la población china en el contexto de la pandemia de Covid-19. Nos centramos en el proceso de creación y producción de dos campañas, en Brasil y España, #EuNãoSouUmVirus y #YoNoSoyUnVírus, respectivamente, compartidas en YouTube y X (ex Twitter). A partir de un enfoque cualitativo, combinamos observaciones etnográficas (análisis de publicaciones y sus contextos) y entrevistas en profundidad con tres activistas involucrados en estas campañas. El análisis se desarrolla en torno a dos dimensiones del transnacionalismo en las redes digitales de la diáspora china que marcaron la producción en los dos contextos nacionales: (1) el surgimiento de narrativas racistas y xenófobas en torno al "virus chino" como impulso hacia el activismo transnacional digital de la diáspora china y (2) el activismo de la campaña #YoNoSoyUnVírus como oportunidad de compromiso político y enfrentamiento de conflictos en el contexto de la cultura china. </ dc:description >
